PROGRAMME
TERMS.
What your act receives, what it agrees to do, filming and livestreaming, the £200 showcase fee, music ownership, the representative's responsibilities and everything else you accept with a place.
These terms are the participation agreement between the selected artist or act and La Vie Studio Ltd and CBLV Community CIC (together, "the organisers"). The act's representative accepts them online, for the whole act, by pressing Accept Place & Agree to Terms on the offer page. There is no other contract to sign.
ACCESS 001 is a funded development programme, not a record, publishing or management deal. There is no fee to take part, and nobody has to buy any extra service from La Vie Studio.
1. What your act receives
When your act completes the programme, it receives:
- Recording: up to two arranged studio days at La Vie Studio to record, produce, mix and master one original song. This is not an EP, an album or open studio time.
- Audio files: final mastered WAV and MP3, instrumental WAV and MP3, and consolidated multitrack WAVs within the agreed technical scope. DAW project files, sample libraries and plugin-dependent material are not included.
- A filmed live-room performance: one professionally filmed live performance in La Vie Studio's live room, with the arrangement agreed in advance. It is a professional live session, not a full music video.
- Songwriting workshops: places in two of the programme's four collaborative workshops with professional songwriters. For duos and bands, how many members attend depends on the workshop format.
- A paid showcase: one performance at one of two public showcases in the Cheltenham area, professionally filmed and livestreamed. Your act receives footage of its own performance, and £200 if it performs (section 6).
- An EPK: an electronic press kit with professional photographs, artist information, your song, the live-room video, showcase footage and credits.
- Career development: at least one group advice session with an invited music-industry professional, plus guidance on releasing music, distribution, press and radio, funding, PRS for Music and PPL, rights and next steps.
- A listening and networking event with the other selected acts and invited guests. Any extra listening party or gathering is optional.
- A follow-on studio day: one extra full day at La Vie Studio at 25% off the standard day rate, booked within 12 months of completing the programme (section 13).
- Travel support may be available under the Travel Reimbursement Policy (section 12).
2. What your act agrees to do
Your act agrees to complete these essential programme activities:
- an individual onboarding call, and the programme induction arrangements
- its studio recording sessions
- its filmed live-room performance
- its two allocated songwriting workshops
- its showcase performance
- the group industry advice session
- the main listening and networking event, where reasonably possible
- reasonable feedback and evaluation forms
Dates are confirmed in your portal as they become available. Group activities cannot always be moved to suit one act. Please also:
- be punctual, prepared and rehearsed, and tell us promptly about clashes, illness or emergencies
- work only with original, human-created music: no covers and no AI-generated vocals, compositions or performances (ordinary editing and mixing tools are fine)
- declare any samples or third-party material before recording or release
- behave respectfully and safely, follow reasonable studio and venue instructions, and respect other people's creative work and confidentiality. Harassment, discrimination, bullying, threats, serious safety breaches or deliberate damage are not tolerated
3. Studio recording
Recording sessions are planned with you at onboarding. The production approach depends on your song and its technical needs, and the number of revisions is agreed during production, not unlimited.
No more than five performing musicians, including the lead artist, may take part in a recording session. Studio staff and supervised engineers don't count towards this.
If illness or another serious unavoidable reason stops a recording session, we will try to rearrange it within the programme's dates and resources.
4. Completing the programme, missed activities and withdrawal
The finished song, film, EPK and follow-on benefits are provided once your act reasonably completes the essential activities, not just for being selected or attending one session. Agreed adjustments and excused absences are recorded by the programme team.
- If the recording sessions are not completed, we cannot promise to finish or deliver a song.
- Filmed sessions, workshops and showcases usually cannot be rearranged for one act. If one is missed for a genuine unavoidable reason, that activity or its footage may be lost, but your other completed benefits are not automatically cancelled.
- If your act misses essential activities without a reasonable explanation, we may end its remaining place and decline to provide outstanding benefits. We will explain the concern and give you a fair chance to respond first, where practical.
- Anything caused by the organisers, or an agreed adjustment, never counts against your act.
- If your act withdraws, its place ends and undelivered activities, files and benefits are no longer owed. Files already delivered are not taken back, any fee already earned stays earned, and nobody's existing copyright is affected. There is no withdrawal penalty.
- Serious misconduct, or a confirmed serious breach such as misrepresenting authorship or using AI-generated music, may lead to removal after a fair process, with urgent safety action where needed.
5. Recording, filming, photography and use of the material
ACCESS 001 funds, produces and hosts professional recordings, filming, photography and the livestream of your performances:
- the live-room performance is recorded and filmed
- the showcase is filmed, recorded and livestreamed publicly
- photographs are taken at programme activities
The licence. By accepting these terms, your act grants CBLV Community CIC and La Vie Studio Ltd a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to record, film and photograph these activities, and to edit, livestream, publish, host and replay the resulting material. The licence covers:
- the full filmed live-room performance and showcase footage, plus edited clips, excerpts, photographs and stills
- ACCESS 001 publicity and reporting, including case studies and funding reports
- the websites, social media, portfolios, showreels and promotional materials of La Vie Studio and CBLV Community CIC
- producing your act's deliverables (the live-room video, showcase footage and EPK) and supplying them to your act for its EPK and its own promotion
How long.
- The full showcase livestream replay stays on official ACCESS 001 channels for up to 12 months after the showcase.
- New material, including the full live-room performance video, may be published for up to 24 months after the programme ends.
- Material already published within that period may stay available afterwards.
Your music and the video. Your act keeps ownership of its songs and audio masters, subject to any contributor agreements (section 9). This licence lets the organisers use your music and performances in the material above. It does not transfer your songs or audio masters to the organisers. It also does not give your act ownership or control of the video, photographs or footage the organisers produce. The material is not used to advertise anyone else's products or services.
Members and additional musicians. The representative confirms that every named member has agreed to this licence and has authorised the representative to grant it on their behalf. Your act is responsible for obtaining the same agreement from any additional musicians it brings (section 8).
Part of the programme. This licence is a condition of taking up a place, not a separate or optional permission. It cannot be withdrawn because someone later changes their mind, and it continues for material already recorded if the act or a member leaves the programme. It remains subject to performers' rights and other rights that cannot be excluded by law. We will consider any request to correct inaccurate material, or to remove something for a genuine safety or wellbeing reason.
Other people can watch or capture a public livestream, and copies they share cannot always be removed. Clearances for any third-party songs or recordings in your performance are your act's responsibility.
6. The £200 showcase fee
The £200 is a performance fee for the act, not an award for being selected:
- It is earned only when your act performs its showcase set. No performance means no fee, except where the law requires payment.
- Once earned, it is not taken back if a later activity is missed.
- It is paid once per act, not per member, and your act decides how to share it.
- La Vie Studio Ltd, as the grant recipient, normally pays it by bank transfer within 30 days after the performance and after receiving your payment details through the portal.
7. No separate permissions
There are no separate or optional permissions to give or refuse. Accepting these terms covers the uses in section 5. Any use outside section 5 would need your act's separate agreement.
8. The representative and additional musicians
ACCESS 001 deals with one representative for each act. For a solo artist, that is the artist. The representative has the act's only portal account.
Accepting for the act. The representative accepts these terms on behalf of the whole act. For a duo or band, the representative enters the full name of every participating member when accepting. Before accepting, the representative must genuinely:
- tell every named member about these terms, including the recording, filming, photography and livestreaming and the licence in section 5
- obtain every named member's agreement, and their authority for the representative to accept these terms and grant that licence on their behalf
The members' names and the representative's declaration are recorded with the acceptance. The representative keeps members informed of dates and arrangements.
Additional musicians. Solo artists and bands may bring extra musicians, such as a session drummer or backing vocalist, within the five-performer limit and with our agreement in advance. They come as part of your act: ACCESS 001 does not enrol, email or contract them. Your act is responsible for:
- making sure they are 18 or over and follow studio and venue instructions
- explaining the programme arrangements to them, including the recording, filming, photography and livestreaming and how the footage will be used (section 5)
- obtaining their agreement to the recording, filming, photography, livestreaming and uses in section 5
- handling any payment or other private arrangement with them
Rights are not overridden. Nothing in these terms overrides anyone's individual copyright or performers' rights. If a legally necessary permission has not genuinely been obtained, it must be resolved before the recording, or the use of it, goes ahead.
9. Music ownership, songwriting and credits
- Your act keeps the rights it already owns. The programme intends your act to own its final master recording, subject to the rights of other contributors being properly agreed.
- The organisers do not take ownership of your songs, and you do not assign your copyright to them.
- Attending a workshop does not by itself create a songwriting share, and routine engineering, mixing or production does not create one either.
- Songwriting splits, production credits, master ownership and any other contributor rights are agreed after recording, once we know who contributed what. The organisers arrange this paperwork with you directly, and each actual rights holder signs what applies to them.
- Final release files are provided only once that rights paperwork is complete and approved.
- Actual professional contributions, including recording, production, engineering and filming, are credited accurately.
10. Delivery of files and your EPK
Final files are delivered securely through your portal once:
- your act has completed the programme requirements (section 4)
- the rights paperwork is complete and approved (section 9)
- the programme team has approved release
Delivery links stay available for at least 90 days. We cannot promise unlimited revisions or indefinite storage. Delivering a master does not include distributing or releasing it for you.
11. Social media
Sharing your ACCESS 001 experience is warmly encouraged but never required. There is no minimum number of posts, no required tags and no requirement to keep posts online, and choosing not to post never affects your place, payments or benefits. We will send you assets and the correct handles if you would like to post. Your own posts stay yours to edit or delete, and posting does not give the organisers any rights to your accounts, music or image.
12. Travel
ACCESS 001 has a limited travel budget. The £600 total is an internal programme allocation shared across the whole project, not an individual entitlement. Reimbursement:
- covers reasonable, necessary travel to agreed activities
- is subject to eligibility, available funding, approval and appropriate evidence
- is claimed through the portal
- is normally paid by La Vie Studio Ltd
The full rules are in the published ACCESS 001 Travel Reimbursement Policy. Accommodation, living expenses and the costs of additional musicians you bring are not covered.
13. The follow-on studio day
Your act may book one additional full studio day at La Vie Studio at 25% below the standard published day rate, within 12 months of completing the programme:
- It is subject to availability.
- It is not cash, and cannot be transferred to another artist or project.
- Extra production, musicians or other services are not included unless separately agreed.
- It is booked directly with La Vie Studio.
14. Accessibility
We will consider reasonable adjustments. La Vie Studio's current premises are not wheelchair accessible. Please talk to us privately about what you need. You never have to share detailed medical information.
15. Changes and scheduling
Dates are confirmed in your portal. Dates, people, venues or formats may occasionally need to change for operational, safety, accessibility or technical reasons. If they do:
- we will try to keep the benefits in these terms and give reasonable notice
- we will not withdraw significant benefits arbitrarily
- we will not add materially new obligations without your agreement
16. Feedback, evaluation and privacy
We ask for reasonable feedback (for example after studio days, workshops and the showcase, and at the end) to improve the programme and report to our funders. We never publish identifiable quotes without asking. Your information is handled as described in the ACCESS 001 Privacy Notice. Contact: hello@cblvcic.xyz.
17. What we cannot promise
ACCESS 001 does not guarantee any of the following:
- a record or publishing deal, or management
- a release by the organisers
- streaming, audience, radio, press or playlist results
- future bookings, funding or paid work
- unlimited revisions or studio time beyond this package
The organisers will use reasonable care and skill and honour their funded and legal obligations. Nothing in these terms removes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
18. Accepting these terms
- Your act must accept within 30 calendar days of the formal offer. Only the programme team can extend this.
- When the representative accepts, we record:
- their name and email
- the date and time
- this exact version of the terms
- the declarations they confirmed and the names of the members
- A confirmation is sent by email, and the representative can download the accepted terms from the portal at any time.
- These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
- Questions before accepting: hello@cblvcic.xyz.
